This Ladies and Gentlemen those questions have been answered by the sales figures of the Nokia 5800 for the first 3 weeks of sales in India. Nokia has sold a staggering 58,000 pieces of the Xpress Music handset. These sales figures are in the same country that had given the iPhone, another all touch handset a huge thumbs down just a few months ago.
We have already reviewed the 5800 here on Mobonoid and we ended really liking the device. We also have a set of videos that cover various aspects of the 5800 which would help you make or break your purchase decision.
The 5800 coverage here on Mobonoid has so far mostly been based around videos of various aspects of the 5800. We’ve covered text entry, web browsing, music and a few other things but its finally time for a full blown review. I have been spending some quality time with the 5800 over the last three weeks, using it as my primary phone, including traveling with it as my sole telephone/multimedia device. This in-depth review of the 5800 covers aspects such as the hardware, touch capabilities, multimedia, software and my overall conclusion.
Following on in our Nokia 5800 video review series is this video that demonstrates the audio and video capabilities of the device. The stereo loudspeakers and the 3.2″ widescreen make for a killer experience, see for yourself.
Its barely been a month since the Nokia 5800 started shipping and Nokia has already shipped over a million pieces of its first S60 touchscreen. Staggering. If someone were to tell me that this was going to happen so soon a month back, I wouldn’t have believed him. This is even more surprising because the handset is not even on sale around the world yet, infact UK just got it yesterday.
I have been playing with the 5800 for over two weeks and before I had started using it, I though I won’t be able to use it for two days because of the lack of a physical keyboard. Even when I was using a N96 or even the N85, there would be times when I missed the E71 – but not this time. The 5800 has pleasantly surprised me and the curious thing is that I am not even a big fan of touch based devices.
Here’s a list of what I have simply loved on the 5800.
Nokia India has released a few free applications and games for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. They include two free games, and three free applications. Its really great to see Nokia India being the first to release exclusive applications, for a change.
This is the first video is a series which would look at different aspects on the 5800 Xpress Music. Shortcuts make our like easy, even more so on a touch only device, so today we have look at some of the apparent and the hidden shortcuts on the 5800 Xpress Music.
One criticism the device has had to face is the lack of shortcuts on the standby screen, however with a little bit of tweaking we can have as many as 26 easily accessible shortcuts within a maximum of two keypresses, this is in addition to the menu. By the end of the video I’m sure you’ll agree it isn’t as much of a problem as it is made out to be!
Honestly, the one device that doesnt need an introduction actually ! The 5800 XpressMusic has been released here in India a couple days, and its been the talk of cellphone lovers around the country.
But just incase you havent heard about it, here’s an introduction to Nokia’s first S60 touch device, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
