I will admit that I am not much of a ‘gamer’ but I do enjoy a game or two, specially the racing ones and one game which you must try out is Raging Thunder, free from the Ovi Store.
The game features an ‘Arcade’ mode where you race against the clock, each win giving you access to a new, more challenging track. In the second ‘Championship’ mode you start with a smaller car and race to collect money and points to upgrade your car. The game is controlled via the accelerometer by simply tilting the handset to the left and right, you can also control the car by dragging a fingertip back and forth on a touch screen. On device like the E72, the d-pad can be used for control.

The Nokia N97 has received a firmware update to version 21.0.045.

The N97 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.
Remember you can update using the N97’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your N97 on your windows PC. Right now the Update seems to be only available via NSU.
(Note: The Firmware update is only available via NSU right now (not Ovi Suite) and will take a couple days before it gets OTA)
If there’s no new firmware detected for your device yet, it might be because it hasnt reached your region product code yet, or maybe your device is carrier branded. It should roll out to all product codes eventually though.
This Update brings a host of new improvements and fixes like :

In Short – The N97 Firmware 2.1 roll-out will start today, i.e. Feb. 1,’10. The update will be first available via the Nokia Software Updater only and will build on the improvements brought by the 2.0 release. Key benefits include better touch based scrolling, improvement to the browser, music player and image and video stability.

In Detail – The Nokia N97 software update release 2.1 will be available through the Nokia Software Updater on Monday 1 February. The software version number will be 21.0.045 (RM-505) or 21.2.045 (RM-507) depending on your region, and should be available by 08:00 GMT. The release for N97 China 2G (RM-506) will follow shortly. This 2.1 release offers additional improvements to the 2.0 release made last year.
What’s new
The software contains many fixes and improvements on the earlier releases including:
Availability
As usual, Nokia will published standard non-customised versions of the software, with country (SIM-free) and operator versions following over the next few days and weeks. The Nokia N97 (and several other devices) can check automatically for new software. Go to Menu > Applications > SW Update and enable automatic checking. MyNokia members will also receive an SMS stating “new software is available” as the deployment progresses. To register, go to Menu > Applications > My Nokia > Sign up or visit www.nokia.com/mynokia.
Using your PC to update
Initially, this software update is only available through the Nokia Software Updater. Due to wealth of new content available in this release, the over-the-air “FOTA” packages are larger than normal (around 17MB) and to allow for sufficient testing, delivery will be slightly delayed.
Backups before updating your Nokia N97 are not essential, but to help you get the most from your new software, we recommend that you sync your device or make a backup excluding settings before updating. After the update, reset your device by keying *#7370# and enter your lock code (default = 12345). Then you can resync your device and restore your backup. Finally, visit Ovi Store to download the latest versions of your favourite applications.
