Yesterday Nokia blessed the Nokia 5800 has been blessed with the v30.0.011 firmware. The update makes the 5800 much more responsive which results in a snappy UI, another point of note is that the free RAM on the device has shot up and this means that you can multitask better and have more applications open at the same time.

Another thing that the new firmware brings in a shortcut for email on the homescreen, needless to say this is an extremely handy and much awaited addition. The firmware is slowly being pushed out over the air and is available via Nokia’s Software Updater. If you don’t see the update then it means that its not available for your product code for now and you will have to wait for some firmware love.

Although the 5800 features user data preservation, I suggest you backup before you update.
