The  N97 is the first Nokia device to have widgets implemented on the homescreen and like I said earlier, the best part is that they are live i.e. they cause update themselves over the internet to deliver the latest information to you. From the time the N97 came out, the number of widgets has quickly grown quite a bit and we have a selection within various categories such as news, entertainment, weather, stocks and so on.

The N97 comes pre-loaded with a selection of local (India centric) and general widgets and you can download many more via the Ovi Store. In this post we will be featuring a few lesser know widgets, all of which I downloaded from the ‘Application’ tab in the Ovi Store application.

• INQUIRER – The Inquirer widget gets you news items from the famous inquirer newspaper. The good think is that the news is not just one country centric and also spread across different areas.
