The Ovi team had been working on a theme for 3rd Edition devices and the theme after being available unofficially doing the rounds has been legitimised and put up for download by the NokiaConversations website.
The theme comes with a killer set of Ovi icons and even has its own messaging alert and ringing tone which you can use at your discretion. Also inside is a screensaver in the form of a .swf file. Simply put, the theme is nice and plain and a must if you like clean elegant themes. The background along could have been better. Jump over for some screenshots. Download Link.
As part of Nokia’s Accessibility Initiative, the beta labs has released an application called Nokia Magnifier for devices such as the N95, E90 and N82 that helps turn your smartphone into a magnifying glass.
Nokia Magnifier utilizes a built in stabilizer to reduce the effects of a shaky hand when getting in close to text or object and negative filter technology which allows users to switch from light to dark backgrounds to improve readability. By using the existing camera technology, the app can also snap a picture of the enhanced image for later reference.
Sadly, the application currently doesn’t work with the E71, N85 and N96. Theoretically it is suppossed to be compatible with all S60 3rd Edition devices that include a auto-focus camera.
